POLICY FOR GRANTS

Wadhurst Parish Council has a policy of making grants which contribute to the welfare of the parish community, for example by improving or supporting local facilities.

These grants shall be subject to the following guidelines:

1.         An overall limit to the value of the grants in any one year will be determined and included in the budget.
2.         Applications for grants should be submitted to the Parish Council by September 30th each year.
3.         Applications for grants should be in writing and should include appropriate financial information and the cost of the project.
4.         Applications will be reviewed by the Finance Committee in October with the aim of making recommendations to the full Council at the November meeting
            and will be subject to the following criteria:
Wadhurst Parish Council will not normally support:
            4.1.      Political organisations, churches or activities of a commercial nature.
            4.2.      Major charities or organisations which make their own direct appeals to  the parish community.
            4.3       Bodies which may be considered to be self funding.
            4.4.      Organisations whose funding is normally provided by other government authorities.
