WD/2006/2795/F Buckland House, Buckland Hill, Cousley Wood.
Demolition of existing garage and erection of detached car-port and garage with studio above.

Strongly object . Visually the building is far too large and dominant and lends itself readily to conversion to a separate dwelling which could easily be undertaken without permission due to its concealment from public view. We also question the need for accommodation for 5 vehicles.

WD/2006/2704/FA Wadhurst Castle.
Removal of condition 3 and variation of condition 4 to permanently require amplified sound to cease after 11pm and not restart before 11am on any day and for the site to be cleared of guests and employees by 12.00 midnight.

We would like clarification of the precise hours of operation before commenting further.

WD/2006/2760/F Orchard End, Turners Green Lane, Turners Green.
Single storey extension to existing bungalow to provide additional accommodation to east and south elevations.

Strongly object as the incremental extensions since 1969 would result in over 50% increase in floor plan of the original dwelling .

WD/2006/2679/F Oak Cottage, Coombe Lane
Single storey rear extension and extension to residential curtilage. Addition to description ‘and extension to residential curtilage’

We cannot comment as there was no plan indicating the extent of the land requiring change of use from agricultural to residential use.

WD/2006/2711/F The Four Keys, Station Road.
Demolition of the existing Four Keys building containing 2 residential units and erection of a terrace of 3 houses and highway improvements to the site entrance.

We have no objection in principle to the demolition and rebuilding further from the road. However whilst we find the rear elevation 2 interesting and acceptable and would not object to the third floor with the set back from the front elevation, we are concerned that the proportions of the front elevation are rather dated and do not take into account the sloping ground. Further, the choice of materials is questionable as far as their long term weathering is concerned.

WD/2006/2750/MAJ Wadhurst College, Mayfield Lane
Retention and conversion of original dwelling and stable building to provide 22 No residential units and demolition of all other existing buildings and the erection of 22 No. new dwelling units with associated access, parking, garaging, and other associated facilities.

Clr Standley withdrew at 10:20

Mr Meek described the proposals in detail after which various Councillors submitted reasons for the Council's objections. Mr Meek informed the Committee that the scheme was influenced by various restrictions imposed by WDC and in view of this it was decided to request a meeting with the case officer Mr Doug Moss to clarify the reason for this. Therefore it is hoped that a later date than the statutory 21 days within which to submit our observations could be allowed.

In view of the complexity of the arguments for and against the proposals the planning committee considered that a specialist planning consultant/barrister ought to be retained by the Council
