Declarations of interest by any Councillors regarding the list below should be made prior to the meeting or to that item being deliberated

Stonegate RR/2008/517/P

Forge Yard – land at Lymden Lane – Demolition of existing buildings and proposed redevelopment for 4 x 2 bedroomed semi-detached cottages, shop and offices with provision of 10 parking spaces and alteration to existing accesses.   Mr Hodder of that address

Cllrs.  Goodall and Burley declared a personal interest as neighbours of the proposal.  15 members of the public present. The public pur forward their comments – all against the proposal.
Objections were

  1. The effect of the development on existing stock of commercial premises in the district Policy E5.
  2. Historic employment site.
  3. Detrimental effect of development to the Oak , within the RPA of the tree – Ask for TPO to be considered.
  4. Retail premises too far back and invisible from road to have a chance of success and difficult access.
  5. Properties have only one parking space each – inadequate and do not meet Gov. guidelines.  No allowance for visitors/deliveries.
  6. Over development of the site.
  7. No proven need for more housing in Stonegate with no infrastructure to support it.
  8. Dangerous junction would be made even more so if more cars were housed on the site.
  9. Local residents would not want to see single or double yellow lines in the centre of the village.
Unanimous recommendation for refusal.
Flimwell RR/2008/492/P

Cllr  Langdown declared a personal interest as a friend of the applicant.
It was felt that the proposals would be an improvement to the building.  Recommendation for approval

Flimwell RR/2008/590/P

Construction of new weatherproof porch structure.  Use of attached outbuilding as snug and utility area.  Replace existing roof and wall tiling to front flank and outbuilding roof in new tiling to match existing – Mr Marr of that address.

There would be little alteration to the appearance of the building and Highways would comment on the safety of the access. Recommendation for approval.
