...extraordinary stories from the twists and turns of life

Hope Street is the show which zooms in on the compelling drama of everyday life of all of us and asks:
where does our hope come from?

Through a series of extraordinary stories told in extraordinary ways ...colourful, hilarious, moving and unforgettable, Hope Street gets close-up and personal. Five multi-talented young performers, telling other people's stories and sometimes their own, aim to stop you in your tracks, turn things round and take you down their street to the junction of life and faith.

Riding Lights Roughshod have years of experience taking their brand of high energy performance to all kinds of places where live theatre is rare. In schools, prisons, churches, civic halls and theatres, young people (as well as the young at heart) have loved coming together to chuckle and cheer, to snivel and sigh and generally get things into a more eternal perspective. So, if you're hoping for something illuminating, funny and vivacious to provide an accessible meeting point for all kinds of people in your community, Hope Street is absolutely the place to go.
A tasty blend of grit, giggles and grandeur that gets to grips with the real stuff of life and what's beyond.
York-based Riding Lights is one of the UK's most successful independent theatre companies. Internationally renowned for thirty years of touring productions, Riding Lights opened its own home, Friargate Theatre, to the public in 2000.
In 1992 it relaunched its community work through its Roughshod companies which are based for several weeks at a time in local communities, performing in schools, colleges, prisons, churches and all kinds of unusual venues.

Roughshod is a dynamic, young company, which annually reaches a live audience of some 70,000 adults and children, and has been acclaimed from Belfast to Barcelona for creating powerful new pieces of theatre.
