National Gardens Scheme: By opening Sussex Gardens to the public more than £173,000 was raised in 2002 for various nursing and gardening charities. Over 180 beautiful gardens, most of them privately owned, are opening again this year. They demonstrate a wide diversity of styles and are an ideal source of inspiration for gardening ideas. Most of the gardens also offer delicious home-made teas.
On Sunday 11 May, 2 – 6 pm, the garden at Ketleys, Flimwell will be open to the public (please approach from B2087 since Rosemary Lane is single track). Admission £3, children 50p.
And on Sunday 18 May the garden at Tinkers Bridge Cottage, Tinkers Lane, Ticehurst will be open to the public (admission £2.50, including tea).
For further details of other gardens nearby, see the yellow Sussex/Kent booklets, 50p.
